You know how they say not to judge a book by its cover? I did. However, it wasn’t a book, it was a concealer, and I judged it not by its cover but for its packaging. But you get the point.
I’ll be the first one to admit, I’ve seen the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraseraround the neighboorhood (and at my neighborhood Walgreens). A few friends had told me how they loved this concealer, but the packaging totally turned me off. From the sponge tip to the maroon packaging, nothing about this concealer appealed to me.
Ahhh… clean beauty. Clean beauty is something that I’ve loved for years but I don’t think I’ve ever done a proper blog post on the subject. Moreover, I cannot talk about clean beauty without mentioning Credo Beauty in the same breath. Credo is, of course, the largest, safest, and real-est clean beauty assortment retailer in the US. In addition to being cruelty-free, all of Credo’s products are formulated without harmful ingredients.
I was lucky enough to receive a goodie box of some of Credo’s best-sellers and customer faves to try out… and boy oh boy are they good. Keep reading to find out my faves and maybe you’ll discover some new clean beauty products to try out for yourself!
The last time I visited Palm Springs, I was 12 and in 6th grade. I still remember it well and it has been high on my list of places to return. When my friend, Samantha, asked if I wanted to go because she had a BOGO ticket on Alaska, I jumped at the chance to visit again.
It was a completely different experience to visit as an adult! From working at Ernest Coffee in the mornings (which doubles as a tiki bar at night!) to eating our way through downtown, Palm Springs made for the coziest girl’s trip destination. We also spent an overnight up in Joshua Tree, which was a destination on my bucket list for 2018.
I wanted to share a few of the trip highlights, which may sway you towards checking out Palm Springs and Joshua Tree as your next vacation. Keep reading, friend!
I’m currently in the thick of switching to a natural deodorant after years of using my trusty Dove antiperspirant… and I have some thoughts. If you’ve ever considered making the switch from antiperspirant to natural deodorant and are curious about my experience, keep reading, friend. 👀
In my opinion, the way a person’s home smells says a lot about them. With home decor, the emphasis is placed on making the space aesthetically pleasing; easy on the eyes. Oft-overlooked, the scent of a home can elevate it from exceptional to extraordinary.
Scent has an extremely powerful memory association component, and it is the key to having your guests (and you!) remember the feeling of your home long after they leave. Growing up, my mom always had Yankee candles burning around the house, and it felt cozy and intimate. I can still remember in the chilly, fall evenings, a guttering candle in the darkened kitchen, long after the sun went down.
In our own home, I try to go beyond the cloying, one-note scents of cheapo candles and infuse every touchpoint with a sophisticated scent journey, consisting of an elaborate mixture of reed diffusers, candles, and aromatherapy diffusers.
I’m an independent woman and one of the things that I was set on DIY-ing for my wedding day was my own makeup. For the months leading up to the big day, I researched on Pinterest for keywords such as “natural dewy bridal makeup” and “light summer wedding makeup.” I pinned a few things, but nothing stood out to me as the look.
As chance would have it (or perhaps the sneaky Facebook algorithm), I saw a video on my timeline from the Charlotte Tilbury Facebook page featuring none other than the perfect summer bridal makeup. It didn’t take longer than a few moments of watching and I was already clicking “add to cart.”
My bridal makeup look consisted of about 90% Charlotte Tilbury products (featured in the handy Facebook video) and a few other standouts that I’ll get to in a min.
